PR masterclass with Bob Leaf

Veteran PR consultant and author Bob Leaf is giving the last PR Masterclass of the term at London College of Communication. The event is on Thursday 19 March at 1300 in Street Lecture Theatre (TG-02) and he will have copies of his book, The Art of Perception, for sale on the day.

PR’s image problem explored

Last month’s PR and the Visual conference attracted an eclectic range of speakers. Despite observations on PR’s image problem and lack of figureheads, MA student Stefani Lanteri was encouraged by the positive atmosphere and intellectual vigour.

Student prize winners announced

The winner and runners-up in the inaugural Douglas Smith Award have been announced. This new competition has been created to help identify students with the greatest potential and remember a founder and honorary patron of CIPR International, Douglas Smith. Students were asked to devise a PR campaign based on a fictitious company wanting to introduce genetically-modified rice in a country with low rainfall. They could choose to support, or oppose, its introduction.

Conference: Public Relations and The Visual

Public Relations and The Visual is a one-day conference bringing together PR industry experts and academics to explore and discuss and debate the role of visual dimensions in public relations theory and practice. From media representations of PR professionals to branded spaces; issues of identity and performance, the conference will explore these and other visual themes from a societal perspective.
