Defence, Diplomacy & Development: Global Tasks for Public Relations in the 21st Century is a must-attend, low-cost, one-day conference being held at London College of Communication, University of the Arts London on Monday 4th July from 9.30am to 4pm.
Last week, ‘PR the Future, We are the Future’ took place at Birmingham City University, Jodie Perkins reports. The conference tackled big industry issues such as diversity within PR and the future of media relations. Keynote speakers included Stephen Waddington and Farzana Baduel – and students presented their thoughts too.
This list of forthcoming European academic conferences with deadlines for submitting proposals may interest researchers, educators and advanced students of public relations.
Last month’s PR and the Visual conference attracted an eclectic range of speakers. Despite observations on PR’s image problem and lack of figureheads, MA student Stefani Lanteri was encouraged by the positive atmosphere and intellectual vigour.
On 21 and 22 August, Amnesty International and the National Union of Students will host a special two-day summit for student journalists. Giving you the opportunity to learn from the best in the field, Amnesty International and the NUS have brought together media experts such as Evan Davis (BBC Radio 4 and Dragon’s Den Presenter), Owen Jones (columnist at The Guardian) and Krishnan Guru-Murthy (presenter of Channel 4 News) for this inspiring two day event. This year’s summit includes sessions on how to perfect your presentation skills, how to deliver a perfect website and how to be a political journalist.
