Two Birds One Stone offer brands the youthful touch

Leeds based communications agencies, Magpie Comms and Ptarmigan Bell Pottinger, have launched a new youth offering which will provide public relations and graphic design support for brands targeting the youth market. The team, which is made up of recent graduates and current Leeds Met students hopes that the new venture will create job opportunities for their peers once the new academic year begins.

Two Birds One Stone combines the PR expertise of the Ptarmigan Academy, the student arm of Ptarmigan Bell Pottinger, and the design and marketing talent of Magpie, who both have experience working with youth brands such as Oxford Stationery, Leeds Corn Exchange and a number of universities and colleges across the UK.

In an increasingly saturated market, Two Birds One Stone hopes its young team of 10 marketing professionals, who are all under 25, can offer brands a point of difference and valuable insight in to targeting younger people.

Only a week after the official launch the young team have already picked up their first client in the shape of Case Addict, an online retailer of phone and computer accessories.

Michael Szlas, MD at Case Addict, said: “We wanted to appoint an agency that got genuinely excited about our products and could help us increase sales through our website. The team at Two Birds One Stone are not only full of good bright ideas, they also get results.”

Nathan Lane, MD of Ptarmigan Bell Pottinger, said: “Following the success of our student agency, the Ptarmigan Academy, we have decided to team them up with Magpie to offer new and existing clients a fully integrated offering. Both agencies have expertise in working with the younger market and with such a young team, Two Birds One Stone is in a great position to offer real insight.

Ged Savva, partner of Magpie Comms, said: “Many clients expect an agency to be able to provide the full marketing mix. It was natural progression for us to begin working with a PR agency, and in Ptarmigan, we have found a collaboration that allows the two teams to join up areas of expertise. Two Birds One Stone is an exciting venture that will draw upon both companies’ wealth of knowledge and a proven track record.”

“We already work with many universities and colleges, and have also worked on NHS campaigns targeting younger people. We hope by sharing experiences and skills we can offer brands something unique and refreshing.”
