Thank you for commenting, Kabelo.

I'd welcome an article or a case study from yuo describing what does - and doesn't work - from your perspective.

Will you write something and send it to editor@behindthespin.com?

I like this piece as the author has clearly had some experience on this topic. I on the other hand run an agency in Africa that has a few accounts from UK based agencies they the "lead" and us the "lead agency on the ground"...

What I have learnt is that 9/10 times lead agencies have no idea how things work on the ground. Which is the point from the author. The result of this lack of knowledge is a tendency to shoe horn strategy. My belief is that this comes from the fact that generally "lead" agencies go to pitch before they have found partners on the ground. This limits maneuverability once we are informed that we need to "launch in 7 days, and by the way we don't have a trading license yet so can you help with that too?..."

My advice is simply find associate partners before a pitch. Thus you can vet and find the best partner who will do the reporting on time, speak and understand English well and provide a much easier working relationship.
